Raksha Bandhan festival is one of the most famous festivals in India. It is a special bound between brother and sister. We also know Rakhi as a Raksha Bandhan. Where sisters tie a some special cord of ‘Rakhi’ on their brother’s wrist, Sister pray to god for their brother’s long life. Brothers gives them some special rakhi gifts and vows to care and protect for them long life. Thus Raksha Bandhan becomes a Indenty of blessings, enthusiasm, wishes and love.

When celebrated Raksha Bandhan?

Raksha Bandhan is celebrated on the month of Shraavan (as per Hindu calendar) when the full moon day of the month of Shraavan. Generaly It is comes in the months of July and August. It is a hindu religious festival. So It is celebrated as per Hindu calendar’s dates.

How does Rakhi Ceremony?

Rakih ceremony is performed almost over in India. It is one of the most favaroute, interesting and loving ceremonies of India. It is great bounding of love sharing of sibling sister and brother. Where Sister select some special of brightest and the best designer ‘Rakhi’ for their brothers. Sister prpares the sacred ‘thaali’ to perform the ‘aarti’ for their brothers. on the ‘thaali’ she puts few grains of rice, and put some sweets along with rakhi. Brothers gives them some special rakhi gifts. And he vows to care and protect for them long life.

On this Rakhi occasions sister also gives some favroute gifts to his brother. So On this Rakhi occasions gifts are exchanged each other. On this ceremony we distributes some special sweets Rakhi Recipes like Ghevar, Vermicelli Kheer, Malpua, Kesar Burfi, Pista Sandesh & Rava Laddoo and more..

The History of Raksha Bandhan Festival

There are many stories about its celebration.

The story of Lord Krishna and Draupadi in the Mahabharat.

Lord Krishna killed the devil King Shishupal for the protection of the Dharma on earth. When lord Krishna’ fingure bleeding during war. Draupadi had strip of her saree and tied around his injured finger to stop the bleeding. That time Lord Krishna has valued to her affection and concern. He felt love and compassion to her sisterly bounded. He pledged to repay the gratitude in her future.
After a long time, When Pandavas lost their wife Draupadi in the game of dice to Kauravas. And they had attempted to remove the cloth(saree) of Draupadi that time Lord Krishna protected the dignity of Draupadi through his divine powers.

Hindu King Porus and Alexandar’s wife

Another rakhi tale comes from the battle between the Hindu king Porus and Alexander. Alexander wife’s send a sacred thread to king Porus and request to him not harm her husband in battle. According to hindu traditions, King Porus gave great respect to rakhi. In the battlefield, when king Porus deliver a final blow on Alexander, That time he saw the rakhi on his hand and restrained himself from attacking to Alexander personally.
